The RSC empowerment funds help teachers share knowledge and develop skills across their local networks

We were chuffed to receive more applications in the spring 2024 round of our Chemistry Teaching Empowerment Fund than in the previous round. The fund supports chemistry teachers and technicians, who are signed up to Teach Chemistry, and primary school science teachers across the UK and Ireland to share knowledge and develop skills within their local networks. It offers up to £600 (€690) towards a collaborative project or event.

For the secondary school fund, we received double the number of applications compared to the previous round. Thank you to everyone who applied, and congratulations to those who were successful.

That’s a total of £19,200 now empowering science teachers

In this funding round, we have accepted 16 primary and 16 secondary applications. That’s a total of £19,200 now empowering science teachers. The funds are supporting initiatives, such as building confidence in teaching primary school science and helping secondary school science teachers perfect their microscale chemistry skills.
